Stiff brush or paddle directly on gear teeth — root to tip. Apply during slow rotation. 1 kg covers ~2-3 sq m of gear surface. Jaw crusher bull gear: 2-3 kg per application. Reapply weekly or when film depleted.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is open gear grease made of?
Bitumen base with mineral oil, tackifiers, and EP additives. Intentionally thick and tacky — that's what makes it work on exposed gears.
Q: Can I use regular grease on crusher girth gear?
No. AP3/MP3 is too thin — won't stay on vertical surfaces, gets squeezed out under shock loads.
Q: How is it different from gel grease?
Open gear grease is bitumen — thicker, blacker, stickier. For very large slow gears. Gel grease handles higher temps. For crusher bull gears: open gear. For kiln girth: consider gel.
Q: How often reapply?
Weekly for single-shift crushers. More often during monsoon or continuous operation. If bare metal visible, reapply.
Q: Difficult to clean off?
Yes, intentionally. Use kerosene or diesel. Stickiness is the feature.
