Regular plywood shuttering oil contains solvents that react with aluminium — causing surface pitting, dark oxidation stains, and sticky residue that gets harder to clean every cycle. After 20-30 uses with wrong oil, panels need grinding or replacement.
Mivan panels cost ₹1,800-2,500 per sq metre. Replacing even 10% of damaged panels costs more than a year's supply of proper shuttering oil.
Diesel is worse. Strips anodized layer, leaves stains that bleed through paint, and creates fire hazard on multi-storey sites.
1. Clean release: Concrete separates without chipping or sticking. Pour surface smooth enough to skip plastering.
2. No staining: Oil doesn't migrate into concrete. Walls ready for direct finishing.
3. Panel protection: Thin film prevents aluminium oxidation between cycles. Panels last 200+ uses instead of 80-100.
4. Low consumption: Spreads thin and even. Bad oil puddles and drips.
| Method | Coverage / Details |
|---|---|
| Foam roller (most common) | 1L per 15-20 sq m. Apply thin coat after cleaning, before rebar. |
| Pump sprayer | 1L per 20-25 sq m. Faster for slab panels. Avoid over-spray on rebar. |
| 2BHK floor cycle | 15-25 litres per cycle (walls + slab) |
| Monthly (1 floor/week) | 60-100 litres. One 210L barrel lasts 2-3 months. |
| Pack Size | Best For |
|---|---|
| 20 litre can | Small job, trial order |
| 50 litre drum | 1-2 floors, backup |
| 210 litre barrel | Standard site, 2-3 months |
| Bulk 500L+ | Multi-tower projects |
No minimum order. First order prepaid.
1. Order one 20L can. 2. Test on 5-10 panels for one pour cycle. 3. Check: clean release? No staining? Easy cleanup? 4. If satisfied, order bulk at better rates.
No contracts. No commitment on trial. If it doesn't work better than what you're using, don't reorder.
Same-day dispatch for orders placed before 2 PM. Mumbai: evening delivery. Navi Mumbai / Thane: next morning. Pune / Nashik: 2-3 days.
Q: What's the difference between mivan oil and regular shuttering oil?
Regular shuttering oil is for plywood — contains solvents that corrode aluminium and stain concrete. Mivan oil uses neutral mineral base with polar additives for aluminium release without damage.
Q: How much mivan oil per floor?
Standard 2BHK floor cycle: 15-25 litres (walls + slab). Depends on panel area and application method. Thin coats give better results.
Q: Can I use mivan oil on plywood shuttering?
Yes, but it's more expensive than needed. Use standard form release oil for plywood. Reserve mivan oil for aluminium panels.
Q: Will your oil leave marks through paint?
No. Formulation prevents migration into concrete. Surfaces ready for direct putty and paint — eliminates concrete cleaning step, saving 2-3 days per floor.
Q: How should I store mivan oil on site?
Shade, sealed containers. Avoid dust and water contamination. Shelf life: 24 months sealed, 6 months opened.
Used on Mivan formwork projects across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Pune including high-rise residential, metro stations, and airport terminals.
